IT'S FINALLY TIME TO SPEAK UP!

Many of us have already worked hard to create local plans. Now it's time for the next step: creating a vision that we all share for our entire region. The Louisiana Speaks Regional Vision will link local plans by addressing the things that we all share in the South Louisiana community: levees and wetlands; highways, railways and waterways; economies and jobs. Over the past sixteen months, nationally renowned planners Calthorpe and Associates have worked with South Louisiana citizens, local and national consultants, and state agencies such as the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority to create alternatives for South Louisiana's future. Now it's your turn to help out. Speak up for the choices that you believe are best for South Louisiana. There are several ways to review the Regional Vision and fill out a response sheet:

At your local coffee house Online voting will be available at CC's and Starbucks across South Louisiana In your local paper Click here to see a list of newspapers across the state that will contain a Louisiana Speaks insert on January 24th.

By telephone Between January 22 and February 10, you can call 888.PLAN.2050 (888.752.6205), and operators will accept your responses.

Louisiana Speaks is a multifaceted planning process, endorsed by the Louisiana Recovery Authority, to develop a sustainable, long-term vision for South Louisiana in the wake of the destruction caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
