Building Planning
Over the next few years of reconstruction, hundreds of thousands of buildings will be built or rebuilt in a short time. In order to fully recover, we want to make sure that Louisianians rebuild the best possible structures -- safer, stronger, and smarter. Urban Design Associates (UDA) has developed a comprehensive toolkit of ideas to be used by homeowners and businesses as they rebuild. UDA pioneered the revival of Pattern Books as a means of communicating urban and architectural values to the building industry. Pattern Books are currently being distributed across the state and are available for use on both residential and commercial projects. They feature sections on sustainable design and "green" building techniques, which are located in the "Architectural Patterns" section.
